Babak Baradaran-Seyed, M.Sc., P.Eng. – Senior Vice President
Babak has extensive experience and expertise in construction and design and has worked on various projects in various industries. He also has experience in blast-resistant design. His skills in project management and technical advising, combined with his knowledge of high-rise, transportation, hospitality, sports centers, educational facilities, and heritage buildings, make him a valuable asset to any project. Babak’s approach of being a solution provider and focusing on efficient communication and time management is a great way to exceed client expectations and ensure project success. By providing key structural solutions at the preliminary stages of a project, Babak can help clients make informed decisions and ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.
Brad McKellar, P.Eng. – Vice President
Brad McKellar has over ten years of experience in structural engineering, designing, and managing projects in a variety of major sectors of development. Brad has worked on projects including commercial, residential, institutional, and recreational buildings in Canada and the United States. His ability to effectively manage projects and communicate with stakeholders is a testament to his leadership skills and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Christian Guimond, P.Eng. – Vice President
Christian Guimond has over 11 years of engineering in structural engineering, building envelope, and project management. Originally from St. Michel-de-Bellechasse, Quebec, he graduated from Polytechnique Montreal in 2010 and has worked on a wide variety of large-scale projects involving new construction, building condition assessments, heritage fit-ups, and masonry and concrete restoration. He was the team lead for the protection of existing structures during the reconstruction of the Turcot Interchange in Montreal and has managed a team of experts across several engineering disciplines for the assessment of 50 Ontario public buildings, many of which are of Significant Heritage character.
Hesam (Sam) Shafieyan, M.Eng, P.Eng –Vice President
Sam is a professional engineer with 13 years of experience in Building Sciences industry. Sam has been involved in the forensic investigation & testing, analysis and design, and project management of various types of building envelope and restoration projects. He has extensive knowledge of building envelope elements including building facades, roofs and waterproofing systems, fenestrations and curtain wall systems, and various structural and architectural building envelope components. He has been the leading role in several restoration projects for heritage designated buildings, as well as low-rise & high rise residential, institutional, and commercial buildings.
Joseph Gasdia, P. Eng. – Senior Vice President
Joseph Gasdia has experience with the structural design of various new construction, renovation, addition, and investigation projects in multiple sectors. Joseph has expertise in structural steel, masonry, and wood design. In addition, to experience in Commercial Development projects, Joseph has extensive experience in institutional construction projects in Southern Ontario. As the Project Engineer for the Project, Joseph is responsible for design meetings attendance, developing collaboration with the Project Team and management of the day-to-day project activities.
Kathy Kajaks – CAD/BIM Manager – Vice President
Kathy has been an experienced structural modeller for over 30 years. Kathy provides leadership and mentoring to the BIM modelling team, ensuring that deadlines are met and structural drawings are accurately completed. Under Kathy’s direction, the modelling team produces structural drawings for the company using our adopted BIM platform of Autodesk REVIT. Notable projects include The Four Seasons Hotel & Residences, Waypoint Mental Health Centre and the Alton Secondary School, Library and Community Centre.
Kevin Falakfarsa B.Sc., CET, CCCA – Senior Vice President
Kevin Falakfarsa has more than 18 years of experience with a variety of technical, and design management projects, as well as preventive maintenance and repair projects in North America and the Middle East. Kevin is experienced in structural condition assessments, investigation, and data collection of commercial and residential buildings, parking garages, and bridges, as well as monitoring and controlling building information and condition assessments of municipalities’ structures and buildings.
Peter McAteer, M.Sc., P.Eng. – Senior Vice President
Peter McAteer is a professional engineer with more than 15 years of extensive experience in contract administration and structural design with steel, concrete, and wood, and he specializes in renovations of existing structures and in building retrofits. Peter is also experienced in contract administration of high-rise residential and institutional structures.
Rob Popplewell, P.Eng.– Vice President
Some of Rob’s notable projects include Waypoint Mental Health Centre, Brampton Civic Hospital, Trent University DNA Laboratories, Kingsway Financial Corporate Headquarters, and in excess of 150 projects for McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada.
Nuno Da Gama, M. Eng, P.Eng., Ing – Vice President
Xi Xin (Fisher) Li, M.Eng., P.Eng. – Senior Vice President
Fisher Li is a highly skilled and experienced structural design manager with a diverse background working on a range of challenging projects. From infrastructure to high-rise buildings, Fisher has demonstrated the ability to lead successful design teams and ensure the completion of complex projects. In addition, Fisher’s involvement with developing and implementing a structural design methodology within the office suggests that he has a strong understanding of the technical aspects of structural engineering and is committed to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of his team’s work.
