In his 20+ year career, Aron has a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects within tight deadlines. He is a trusted team leader and a skilled project manager responsible for successfully delivering numerous projects in various sectors across Canada. As a team leader, Aron is known for his ability to motivate and inspire his team members and always emphasizes collaboration and communication. Whether working with clients, contractors, or team members, Aron focuses on delivering results that meet or exceed expectations.
Mohsen Mansouri, P. Eng., LEED® AP – Principal
Saundra Cullen, P. Eng., LEED® AP – Principal
Saundra is an experienced and skilled member of the Salas O’Brien team, with a management style that is hands-on and practical. Her expertise is evident in many of the firm’s major structural designs, and she enjoys working collaboratively with clients and colleagues to come up with innovative solutions to structural challenges. With over 45 years of experience in the industry, Saundra’s contributions have undoubtedly been invaluable.
Zoran Tanasijevic, P. Eng. – Principal
Zoran Tanasijevic has over 20 years of experience in structural engineering, designing, and managing projects in all major sectors of development. Zoran has worked on a wide variety of projects including data centres, airports, commercial, residential, and institutional buildings in Canada, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Russia, North Africa and the United States. With experience in all sectors of structural design, examples of his work include Ryerson University Student Campus Centre, Bank of Montreal Computer Centre, Casino Rama, and Southcore Financial Centre.
Robert Sqapi, PhD., P. Eng. – Principal
Robert Sqapi has 30 years of structural engineering experience in the structural design of buildings, project management, and business development both in Canada and internationally. Robert has proven hands-on management skills and expert experience in the structural design and contract administration of a diverse range of building types of varying complexity and size, requiring innovative and unique solutions to suit the particular challenges of each project. As someone who oversees Salas O’brian’s Contract Administration Services, Robert is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project cycle – from design to construction completion – are carefully managed and monitored.
Lawrence McSorley, M. Arch., M.C.P. – Principal
Lawrence is a Registered Architect (B. Arch., M. Arch.) and Planner (M.C.P.), with 31 years of combined experience working as an architect, urban designer and master planner, providing design and planning consulting for the public and private sectors. Lawrence leads the operations for the Calgary office, providing building science and structural design Services. The team is engaged in projects for the private sector (local and national), as well as governmental clients (municipal, provincial, federal), at locations throughout Canada and internationally. Lawrence currently holds registration in Alberta, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
Sobhy Masoud, PhD., P. Eng. – Principal
Dr. Sobhy Masoud has over 30 years of experience in structural engineering, designing and managing projects in all major development sectors. What sets Dr. Sobhy Masoud apart is his specialization in the unique structural requirements of buildings and infrastructure that can resist extremely hazardous conditions, such as crash impact loading, blast, tornados, and hurricanes. Furthermore, his contributions to several research initiatives demonstrate his dedication to advancing the field of structural engineering. Finally, his work as an Adjunct Professor at McMaster and Toronto Metropolitan Universities and his collaboration with the University of Western Ontario shows his commitment to sharing his knowledge with the next generation of engineers.
James Cranford, P. Eng. – Principal
James has 15 years of experience working extensively on residential, commercial and healthcare projects in all aspects of project delivery. As a member of the Technical Committee, James oversaw concrete design standards within the office. Recent notable work includes 100 Adelaide St. West, MichaelGarron Hospital Redevelopment, 85 Richmond St. Office renovation and 99 Atlantic Commercial Offices and OneDelisle Condominium Developments. James has also consulted with the Heavy Urban Search and Rescue(HUSAR) on provincial emergency deployments.
Alen joined Stephenson Engineering in 2011 and quickly established himself as the resident expert in the field of structural concrete restoration, eventually becoming the leader of the restoration team. His experience spans over 15 years and includes contract administration, physical condition assessment, inspections, and construction planning in a variety of projects including residential and commercial buildings.
