Stephenson Engineering announced today that it has joined Salas O’Brien, creating an integrated firm of 38 offices with more than 950 team members and 250 registered professionals.
With offices across North America, Salas O’Brien is an employee-owned engineering, facility planning, and commissioning firm addressing highly technical building and facility challenges through international strength and local action.
Stephenson will continue to be managed locally by its current leaders and will adopt the Salas O’Brien name after a reasonable transition period. The transaction closed on December 1, 2020, and news of the merger was shared just after the close with the Stephenson and Salas O’Brien teams.
“We’re very drawn to Salas O’Brien’s ambition to be the best engineering, facility planning and commissioning firm in the world,” said Aron McCallum, Principal of Stephenson. “Their approach to mergers, the opportunity to expand our services throughout North America, and our complementary approach to firm culture and projects—all of these and more give us a great deal of optimism for the future we will build together. All of our leaders are excited and have voluntarily become shareholders in our merged firm.”
